A 19-year-old man has pleaded guilty to raping and murdering an aspiring comedian in a Melbourne park earlier this year.
Jaymes Todd attacked Eurydice Dixon, 22, as she walked home alone after performing at a comedy show in the early hours of June 13.
Her body was found on a soccer field in Princes Park in Carlton North about 3am by a passer-by. She was less than a kilometre from her home.
Later that day, Todd, who has autism, handed himself in.
He pleaded guilty to single counts of murder, rape, attempted rape and sexual assault during his committal hearing on Thursday.
Appearing on video-link, he said he was: ‘Guilty, your honour’, when asked to enter his plea.
Todd has been remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance on November 13.
