The perils of being a Sky Sports News reporter were laid bare on Tuesday morning as Vinny O’Connor was hit by a ball during a live TV broadcast from Carrington.
But as he was closing out his report, Marcus Rashford fired an impressively accurate ball towards him from all of 35-yards. It hit him in the back just as he was moving out of shot.

As O’Connor and the cameraman scanned the group of Manchester United players for the culprit, Rashford attempted to look as inconspicuous as possible. However, with Ashley Young hysterically laughing and pointing, the game was given away.
Sky Sports appeared to take the incident in jest and posted footage of it to their official Twitter account. They wrote: ‘Absolutely pinpoint! Our own Vinny O’Connor gets hit by a perfect ball at @ManUtd training! @MarcusRashford was that you?’
It showed Manchester United were in fine spirits ahead of what could prove to be a crucial Champions League Group H tie against Serie A champions Juventus. Having lost to them in the first leg, another defeat would see top spot in the group move out of reach.

Should Valencia beat Young Boys in the group’s other game, they would also slip to third place with just two games remaining. Crashing out of the Champions League and into the Europa League would be a significant failure for Jose Mourinho’s side.
Rashford could be in line to start the match after coming off the bench against Bournemouth to score a last-minute winner on Saturday. The young striker has found starts difficult to come by under Mourinho, but put in an impressive cameo at the Vitality Stadium.
It was also noted that Romelu Lukaku, who missed the game against the Cherries through an unspecified injury, failed to train with the team on Tuesday and is set to miss the game in Turin.
Even if he was fit, he would struggle to get a starting berth after a spell of poor form in front of goal. The Belgian has struck four times this season, but has not hit the back of the net since September.
